In order to successfully implement our Borealis Strategy 2030, the former IT&S and Digital Studio teams are joining forces. The new "IT & Digital Solutions" organisation creates new opportunities. One of the roles necessary to ensure a fit for future organisation is a IT Solutions Sustainability Expert.
As IT Solutions Sustainability Expert your role will focus on being a trusted advisor for all sustainability topics where digitalization can drive and support Borealis sustainability strategy implementation.
In your role, you will provide expert knowledge and guidance, act as an internal trusted technology advisor and be a functional consultant for all digital solutions supporting. You will be the focal point and play the vital link between Borealis sustainability & public affair department and the technical specialists. You drive the enhancements and development of the sustainability solutions by:
- leading the analysis and conceptual design for specific business processes and the supporting data pipelines, ETLs (Extract, Transform, Load) and applications
- initiating step changes to facilitate value creation and/or sustainable cost savings for Borealis (by means of operational vendor management).
- driving operational vendor management
- contributing to solution architecture management
- analyse, configure, trouble-shoot and solve problems
- prioritize requests by working with the business owners and IT colleagues;
- documenting, designing, building and supporting solutions
- follow-up proactively on technology and business trends and application enhancements (e.g. new releases) and new or alternative products. You will influence and challenge the business with these insights.
- lead projects as application/technical expert (e.g. stream leader) and support project leaders in planning.
About you
The right candidate for this role must have at least 10 years of IT work experience in an international matrix organisation, being a recognised expert in digital sustainability solutions. You have an in depth understanding of the organisation, the work processes and the way systems and applications are used by the business partners, as well as an in depth understanding of the data bases of the related applications and their interconnectivity to the “big data” ecosystem of the company. You understand architectural issues, and factor them into decisions and recommendations.
Strong analytical and conceptual abilities, an outstanding customer orientation and value collaboration with business are all necessary for this role. We need someone with a drive for excellence combined with a strong sense for initiative, an agile mindset and good sense of team work. Fluency in English (spoken, written, literacy) is required.
