We are looking for a Junior Farms Manager to join our team and grow with us. The position requires general farm management, crop specific growing, people management and other farming related tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Agricultural Diploma / Degree advantageous
- Min of 2 years previous farm management experience
- Experience in the following:Vegetable farming
Mechanical / Maintenance
- Computer literate
- Hard-working, deadline-driven, diligent
- Valid driver’s license
- Own transport
- English speaking, (Afrikaans, Zulu, Sotho.. Advantageous)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide ongoing input into the company’s production strategy.
- Irrigation, Fertilizer and Spraying Management
- Deliveries (Temporary responsibility)
- Leaf/soil analyses
- Training of employees (Planting, harvesting, spraying…)
- Monitor and report on crop development, estimates and quality attributes.
- Manage relevant aspects of the harvesting process
- GAP Audit preparation
- Manage recordkeeping and reporting of all production related information.
- Stock taking/record keeping
- Put systems in place to monitor Water/ Electricity/ Fertilizer/ Chemicals/ fuel etc.
- People management in accordance with the company’s Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Maintenance of buildings and vehicles and the implementation of maintenance schedules
- Purchases
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Salary: R10,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month

- Meyerton, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
