About the role

The Independent Medical Reviewer ensures that our promotional and non-promotional communication follows and acts upon our GSK values and prevents regulatory challenges posed by authorities or competitors.

The role checks the content quality, accuracy, up to date and regulatory requirements on all types of promotional materials and non-promotional content.

About the responsibilities

  • Ensure key messages of promotional and non-promotional material/activities are compliant with GSK Code of Practice and SOPs
  • Ensure the content is accurate, balanced, medically appropriate and scientifically substantiated
  • Participate and provide medical and compliance input in pre planning stage or during the development of the promotional/ non-promotional materials/activities
  • Recommend mandatory changes according to GSK code of Practice and relevant code of practices
  • Ensure the material is reviewed on time and copyright permissions are granted for relevant aspects of the content’
  • Perform a quality check of each material during the review stage
  • Ensure optimization of ways of working around Global Vaccines by providing trainings, face to face meetings and increasing copy approval standards operations
  • Drive the users and ensures they are appropriately trained and up to date on latest system's updates
  • Conduct medical review and identifies materials that need further review to ensure ABPI code compliance

About you

Basic Qualifications

  • Graduate in health-related science, or medical or pharmacy degree. Higher degrees (eg Masters level, PhD) preferred
  • Significant pharmaceutical industry experience in medical affairs as a Reviewer of content used in promotional and non-promotional settings
  • In-depth knowledge of IFPMA and ABPI Code review and certification requirements gained through relevant industry experience
  • Understanding of the typical commercial and medical activities from a global perspective in the pharmaceutical industry (eg promotion, medical education, external partnerships, advisory boards)
  • Understanding of international Codes of Practice IFPMA, EFIPIA, IPHA, ABPI etc
  • Good interpretation of scientific data from peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong clinical literature evaluation skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with internal partners locally and globally
  • Ability to work independently and manage/prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Clear ability to summarize complex scientific literature, real-world evidence, CER, and other observational research studies for scientific evaluation needs by various customer types
  • Ability to operate in a highly dynamic, changing, and matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated customer-focus, problem solving abilities and strong conflict resolution skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to cope with pressure and meet tight timelines
  • Experience in stakeholder management, problem-solving mindset and customer orientated
  • Experience in managing or participating in large projects
  • Experience in influencing internal and external stakeholders on priorities and needs to fill scientific data gaps or needs of HCPs, Payers, Patients, IDN, Public Health Authorities or Government Customer
  • Experience in communicating and translating evidence and customer insights to/with matrix team partners; proven ability to develop innovative, customer-focused medical solutions and resources
