We are growing our highly skilled HP One team with the addition of a Mechanical Engineer (PC Client Tooling) with diverse experiences and strong technical expertise with PC client metal and plastic piece-part tooling. With a focus on speed, agility, and driving innovation, the team leverages the best of HP and innovates where needed. The Mechanical Engineer will apply subject matter expertise to lead tooling suppliers and Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) development partners in developing and delivering new laptop and tablet devices.

What a Mechanical Engineer - Tooling does at HP:

• Develops organization-wide mechanical tooling design, development, and issue resolution solutions across multiple platforms.
• Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into products.
• Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; integrates suggestions, updates, and innovations into overall designs.
• Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and suppliers.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of mechanical innovation and excellence.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Typically 10+ years experience.
• Using ProEngineer or other 3D CAD software as a mechanical design tool.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience designing metal and plastic parts and associated production tooling and processes.
• Proven history of innovation.
• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
