To face our challenges, we are now looking to recruit a suitable person for the Electrochemist role at our plant based in Søborg, Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Role
The Electrochemist will be responsible for HYMETH's present patent technology and the development of next-generation technologies to ensure that Hymeth maintains its position as the R&D leader within the field of hydrogen. The role will report to the R&D Manager.
This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved and influence Hymeth's products toward a sustainable world. As an electroplating engineer at HYMETH, you will have your own area of expertise and work closely with the development team to drive product development and processes. You will be responsible for identifying what creates the most value for our customers and HYMETH's technology. You will serve as the master in electrochemistry within the company as well as external contacts such as our suppliers.
Key tasks as Electrochemist
- Drive the product development process within your area.
- Ensure we have the right process in product development by offering and managing the production process to guarantee overall success.
- Prioritise features and control project scope to reach project objectives within the area.
- Be the expert on HYMETH's products and provide daily operational support to both internal and external contacts.
- Establish and maintain documents such as project plans, schedules, backlogs, and other requirements.
- Drive the development of new products and processes from existing ideas or identify potential products through customer insights and market research.
- Be responsible for briefing and providing content in the development.
- Supplier inspection based on technical know-how
- Surface engineering of catalysts/electrodes and supportive components
- Laboratory testing of materials and prototypes
- Aiding project development with technical specifications, the related cost, and lead time
Who you are?
- You have a degree qualification, preferably in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical engineering, Materials Science, or related fields.
- You have previous experience in (alkaline) electrolyzers, fuel cells, or related technologies (approx. 5 years).
- Experience in electroplating/electrodeposition of transitional metals and metal alloys.
- Knowledge of liquid electrochemistry/electrochemical systems
- Knowledge in oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) kinetics
- Experience in surface chemistry & material research, design and testing
- To thrive in this position, you should be a true team player with an open attitude, a positive mindset, and a high level of personal responsibility.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Other Scandinavian languages are a strength.
